Zhao defeats O'Sullivan to reach final at World Snooker Championship

Zhao Xintong Beats O’Sullivan to Reach World Snooker Final! 🎱

Exciting news from the world of snooker! 🎱 China’s Zhao Xintong has made it to the final of the World Snooker Championship after defeating England’s Ronnie O’Sullivan with an impressive score of 17-7.

Zhao, who is 28 years old, became only the second Asian player ever to reach the final of this big tournament. He played brilliantly against O’Sullivan, who is a seven-time champion and one of the best players in snooker history.

The match started evenly, with both players tied at 4-4 after the first day’s games. But on the second day, Zhao took control and won eight games in a row! 😮 O’Sullivan wasn’t playing his best, and Zhao took every chance to score.

Now, Zhao is just one win away from making history. If he wins the final, he will be the first Asian player to become the World Snooker Champion! His fellow Chinese player, Ding Junhui, reached the final in 2016 but didn’t win.

Did you know? Zhao had to work really hard to get here. He returned to playing last September after being banned for 20 months because he broke some betting rules. But he didn’t give up! He won four qualifying matches as an amateur to earn his place in the championship.

In the other semifinal match, Mark Williams from Wales came back from losing 7-3 to tie with England’s world number one, Judd Trump, at 8-8. Their exciting match continues on Saturday.

Let’s cheer for Zhao Xintong as he aims for snooker history! 🏆 Will he become the first Asian World Snooker Champion? Stay tuned to find out!
