Hey there, sports fans! 🎱
Exciting news from the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield, England! Chinese snooker star Zhao Xintong and England’s legendary Ronnie O’Sullivan are tied at 4-4 after an amazing first session in their semifinal match!
Zhao Xintong, who’s 28 years old, is playing in his very first semifinal at the famous Crucible Theatre. He started off strong, winning the first two frames (that’s like rounds in snooker) with impressive scores called “breaks” of 60 and 62. A “break” is when a player scores points in one turn without missing a shot! 🎯
But Ronnie O’Sullivan, who has won the World Championship seven times, didn’t let that stop him! He came back with three half-century breaks (that’s breaks over 50 points) to take the lead at 3-2.
The match stayed super close, and both players won more frames, making the score 4-4. Zhao finished the session with an awesome break of 86 points! 😲
The second session of their match starts early on Friday. Who will come out on top? We can’t wait to find out! 🏆
In the other semifinal match, England’s Judd Trump, who’s the World No. 1, is leading 5-3 against Mark Williams from Wales, who has won the championship three times before.
Stay tuned for more snooker excitement! 🎱✨
