Hey there, golf fans! ποΈββοΈ Guess what happened at the Chevron Championship? Two amazing golfers, Ryu Hae-ran from South Korea and Liu Yan from China, are leading the pack! They both played incredibly well, scoring a 7-under 65 without any bogeys. That’s like getting top marks on a super hard test! π―
A bogey in golf means you took one more shot than expected on a hole. But these two didn’t have any of those slips! They were on fire π₯, making birdies (that’s one shot less than expected) all over the course.
Ryu started strong, getting five birdies in her first ten holes. She even got a birdie on her last hole! Liu was just as impressive. On her back nine holes, she scored four birdies in just five holes and also ended with a birdie. Way to go! π
Meanwhile, last year’s champion, Nelly Korda, had a tough day. She struggled on the course and ended up with a score of 77. But golf is full of surprises, and there’s still time for a comeback! πͺ
Ryu mentioned she changed her putter last week, and it’s helping her a lot. A putter is the club golfers use to gently hit the ball into the hole when they’re close. Liu worked hard on her driving (that’s when you hit the ball really far at the start of a hole) and it paid off!
The tournament had to pause because of a storm π©οΈ, but the excitement is just getting started. Who will win? We’ll have to wait and see! Stay tuned! π
