Hey there, table tennis fans! Did you hear the exciting news? China has three amazing players in the singles semifinals at the 2025 World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions in Incheon, South Korea!
Wang Yidi’s Big Win
First up, we have Wang Yidi, who is China’s top seed (which means she’s one of the best players!). She won her match 4-1 against Shin Yu-bin from South Korea. Next, she’ll face Zhu Yuling, a former world number one who is representing Macao, China. Wang said, “I think Zhu is in very good form. It will be a very tough match tomorrow. I’ll do my best in the competition, and prepare for difficult moments.”
Chen Xingtong Moves Forward
Another great player, Chen Xingtong, who is ranked fourth, defeated Japan’s Mima Ito 4-2. She will play against Miwa Harimoto from Japan in the semifinals on Sunday. Go Chen!
Xiang Peng’s Impressive Victory
In the men’s singles quarterfinals, 21-year-old Xiang Peng had an awesome win against Hugo Calderano from Brazil. Xiang said, “I was well-prepared for a tough clash. But once I got a clear understanding of Calderano’s spins, things started to pick up for me.” He also shared that staying calm and loving the game helped him succeed. “I played without pressure and felt very relaxed. I approach each match with eager anticipation, even though it will be tough,” he said.
