Xu Mengtao Shines in Aerials
Xu Mengtao competed in the women’s aerials event in Corviglia, Switzerland. She performed some incredible jumps, scoring 99.16 points on her second try! That’s like getting an A+ on a super hard test. She finished just behind Kaila Kuhn from the USA, who scored 105.13 points. Danielle Scott from Australia came in third.
This was Xu’s seventh time competing at the World Championships, and she kept her streak of winning medals alive! π Her teammates, Chen Xuezheng and Shao Qi, also did great, finishing fourth and sixth.
Li Fanghui Impresses in Halfpipe
But that’s not all! Earlier in the day, Li Fanghui grabbed her own silver medal in the women’s ski halfpipe event. She wowed everyone by scoring 90.25 points on her first run. Imagine doing tricks in a big snow tunnel and impressing all the judges! π She was the only skier to score over 90 points on the first run.
Zoe Atkin from Great Britain had a tough start but bounced back to take the gold with 93.50 points. Li was so close with 93.00 points on her second run. Cassie Sharpe from Canada took the bronze.
This is Li’s first time on the podium at the World Championships! π Three other Chinese skiersβChen Zihan, Zhang Kexin, and Liu Yishanβalso did well, finishing sixth, seventh, and eighth.
Let’s Celebrate! π
