Hey there, basketball fans! 🏀
Exciting news from Singapore! China’s men’s and women’s basketball teams have both made it to the quarterfinals at the FIBA 3×3 Basketball Asia Cup! 🎉
What is 3×3 Basketball?
First off, did you know that 3×3 basketball is a super fun, fast-paced version of the game? Instead of five players on each team, there are only three, and they play on half a court. Cool, right? 😎
China’s Men’s Team
The men’s team players—Guo Hanyu, Yan Peng, Zhang Dianliang, and Xiang Zhichao—all compete in China’s 3×3 Super League. They were grouped with teams from Chinese Taipei and India in Pool B.
In their first game, they zoomed past Chinese Taipei with a score of 21-10! 🚀
The second game against India was much tougher. The score was tied at 17-17 with less than a minute left. But guess what? Guo Hanyu scored an awesome two-point shot to win the game 19-17! 🥳
Next up, they’ll play against Qatar, the number 2 seed from Pool D, in the quarterfinals. Let’s cheer them on! 🎊
China’s Women’s Team
On the women’s side, the team is super young—their average age is less than 23! The players are Hu Duoling, Li Wenxia, Li Yuyan, and Zhou Mengyun.
They were in a tough group with last year’s runners-up, New Zealand, and South Korea.
In the first game, they played really hard but lost to New Zealand by just one point, 18-17. So close!
But they didn’t give up. In their second game against South Korea, they used their height advantage and solid defense to win 19-12! 🏆
Now, they’re heading to the quarterfinals to play against Vietnam. Go team! 🎈
Let’s Support Team China!
Both teams are doing great, and it’s so exciting to watch them play. If you love basketball or just enjoy cheering on teams, keep an eye on the FIBA 3×3 Basketball Asia Cup and support China’s teams! ✨
And who knows, maybe one day you’ll be playing basketball on the big stage too! 🏀
