Hey there, sports fans! ππββοΈπββοΈ
There’s an exciting race happening right now to decide who will become the next President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). That’s the group that organizes the Olympic Games we all love! π
So, who are the top contenders?
- Juan Antonio Samaranch: He’s currently the Vice President of the IOC. Even though many people think he might win, he’s saying it’s anyone’s game! “I really don’t know,” he said about his chances.
- Sebastian Coe: A former athlete who won two Olympic gold medals! π₯π₯ He’s also been a politician and helped organize the 2012 London Olympics. He says he’s feeling good about the race.
- Kirsty Coventry: She’s a two-time Olympic gold medalist from Zimbabwe and is also the sports minister there. If she wins, she would be the first woman and the first African to lead the IOC! “Let’s create some change,” she said. π
The vote is happening on Thursday, and all the IOC members (there are 109 of them!) will choose the next leader. The winner will start their job on June 23.
Isn’t it thrilling to see who will guide the future of the Olympics? Who do you think will win? π€
Stay tuned to find out! π°
