China’s amazing players, Lin Gaoyuan and Sun Yingsha, have just moved into the round of 16 at the WTT Champions tournament in Chongqing! 🎉
Lin’s Fantastic Win
Lin Gaoyuan faced off against Cho Dae-seong from South Korea. Lin was on fire! 🔥 He won the match with an awesome 3-0 score.
- First game: Lin won 11-5 🥇
- Second game: Even though Cho tried hard and got close at 7-6, Lin stayed cool and won 11-6 😎
- Third game: Lin kept up the great play and secured the final game!
Next, Lin will play against either his fellow Chinese player Liang Jinkun or Finn Luu from Australia. Can’t wait to see what happens! 🤩
Sun’s Close Match
On the girls’ side, world number one Sun Yingsha had a tough match against Sofia Polcanova from Austria.
In the first game, Sofia started strong and was leading 9-4! 😮 But Sun didn’t give up. She fought back and scored 7 points in a row to win 11-9! 💪
Sofia, who is ranked 14th in the world and won the European Championships last year, kept challenging Sun in the next games. But Sun stayed strong and won them 11-7 and 11-8. That means Sun won the match 3-0 and is also in the round of 16! 🎊
