Buyunchaokete played against American teenager Nishesh Basavareddy in the men’s singles first round. With a score of 7-5, 6-4, he showed his skills and advanced to the next round! 🥳
He said after the match, “I felt both nervous and excited since it’s my first time playing at Indian Wells, and on the center court!” Can you imagine playing on such a big stage for the first time? 😮 He also praised his opponent, saying they both played really well.
This win was extra special because it ended a 10-match losing streak for Chinese players in recent tournaments. That means Chinese players had lost ten matches in a row before this victory! Way to go, Buyunchaokete! 👏

Wang Xinyu Moves Forward 🌟
On the women’s side, Wang Xinyu had a fantastic match against Mayar Sherif from Egypt. She won with a score of 6-4, 7-5, moving on to the second round! 🎊
The match was tough, but Wang stayed strong. In the first set, she took the lead early by breaking her opponent’s serve. This means she won a game when her opponent was serving, which is hard to do! 🎾 Even though Sherif tried to catch up, Wang secured the set.
The second set was super close, as both players held their serves. But Wang managed to win by breaking Sherif’s serve at the very end! 😁
