Hey boxing fans! 🥊 We’ve got some exciting news from the world of sports!
The International Olympic Committee (IOC), which organizes the Olympic Games, has given a big thumbs up 👍 to a new organization called World Boxing. This means that boxing is one step closer to being part of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics!
But what happened to boxing before? Well, the previous organization in charge, called the International Boxing Association (IBA), had some issues with following rules about money and fairness. So, the IOC had to step in and find a better way to keep boxing in the Olympics.
Now, with World Boxing getting provisional recognition (which means they’re accepted for now but will be closely watched), there’s new hope for all the boxers dreaming of Olympic glory. 🌟 World Boxing already has 78 member countries from all over the globe! 🌍
World Boxing’s president, Boris van der Vorst, said, “This is a very significant day for everyone connected with the sport of boxing in the Olympic movement.” He believes keeping boxing in the Olympics is super important for athletes at every level.
This is fantastic news for young boxers everywhere! It means they can keep training hard with the dream of one day standing on the Olympic podium and hearing their national anthem play. 🥇
There’s still a lot of work to do, but things are looking up for the sport we all love. So, keep your gloves up and your hopes high! 🥊✨
