Hey football fans! ⚽️ Have you ever scored a goal in the last second of a game? Well, that’s exactly what happened when Bayern Munich faced Celtic! 🥳
Bayern Munich was up against Celtic in the Champions League playoffs. The game was super intense! Celtic scored first in the 63rd minute, making it 1-0. They were so close to winning! 😱
But then, in the 94th minute (that’s extra time!), Alphonso Davies became the hero! He tapped the ball into the net after a great save by Celtic’s goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel. The game ended 1-1, but Bayern won overall with a 3-2 score. 🎉
Alphonso Davies said, “We had the ball on the edge of the box (that’s near the goal!), so I just went into the box and didn’t think too much, just put a foot out and it went in.” How cool is that? 😎
Bayern’s coach, Vincent Kompany, was super proud. “It’s impressive,” he said. “We’ve immediately seen what he offers for the team.”
Unfortunately for AC Milan fans, their team didn’t make it. 😢 They played against Feyenoord and ended with a 1-1 draw. Since Feyenoord had more goals overall, they moved on to the next round. AC Milan’s player, Theo Hernandez, got a second yellow card (that’s like a warning), and had to leave the game early.
Other teams moving forward include Club Brugge from Belgium! They won against Atalanta and made history as the first Belgian team to win a Champions League knockout tie! 🥳
Benfica from Portugal also advanced after a thrilling 3-3 draw with Monaco. They won overall with a 4-3 score. The next round’s draw is on Friday. Who do you think will play each other next? 🤔
What an exciting time for football! Keep cheering for your favorite teams! 🙌
