Hey tennis fans! 🎾 Have you been following the Qatar Open? There was a big match on Tuesday! Zheng Qinwen, one of China’s top tennis stars, faced off against Ons Jabeur from Tunisia in the round of 32.
It was an exciting game, but Zheng Qinwen lost in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-2. That means she won’t be moving on in the tournament this time. It’s a bit disappointing for her, especially since she also lost earlier than she wanted at the Australian Open last month.
But don’t worry! Zheng is still an amazing player, and we’re sure she’ll come back stronger next time. 💪
After her win, Ons Jabeur will play against Sofia Kenin from the USA. Sofia is a former Australian Open champion, so that match is going to be thrilling! 😃
There were other surprising results too! The world number 1, Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus, lost in the second round to Ekaterina Alexandrova from Russia in a super close match that lasted over two and a half hours! 😮
Also, Coco Gauff from the USA lost her match against Marta Kostyuk from Ukraine. Even though Coco had a good lead in the second set, Marta came back to win 6-2, 7-5.
On the other hand, Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan had a great day! She won her match against Peyton Stearns from the USA and is moving on to the next round. Go Elena! 🎉
