Hey basketball fans! 🏀 Get ready for some exciting news from the CBA Club Cup!
On Tuesday, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers soared to victory against the Shanxi Loongs, winning 105-89! This awesome win means they’re heading to the championship final!
Robert Edwards, who joined the Flying Tigers during the Lunar New Year break, scored an impressive 29 points! He also grabbed six rebounds (that’s when you catch the ball after a missed shot) and made five assists (that’s when you pass the ball to a teammate who then scores). 🎯
On the Shanxi Loongs side, Hamidou Diallo, a former NBA slam dunk champion, was on fire! He scored a game-high 35 points! 🔥
The game was super exciting! The Flying Tigers started strong, leading by nine points after the first quarter. But the Loongs fought back, and by halftime, the score was tied at 54-54! 😮
Then, in the third quarter, the Flying Tigers had an amazing 13-2 run! That means they scored 13 points while the Loongs only scored 2! They pulled ahead and didn’t let the Loongs catch up again. 💪
This tournament is really special. Eight CBA teams are in the final stage, and it’s a single-elimination format. That means if you lose, you’re out! Each quarter is 10 minutes long instead of the usual 12. Teams can have up to four overseas players (players from other countries) per game, but only two can be on the court at the same time.
By the way, these games don’t count towards the regular season standings. They’re just for the Club Cup!
The other semifinal game is on Wednesday, where the Beijing Ducks will play against the Shanghai Sharks. Who do you think will win? 🦆🦈 The final is set for Saturday! Can’t wait! 🏆
Stay tuned for more exciting basketball action!
