Hey there, tennis fans! ๐พ Guess what? China’s very own Zhang Zhizhen just helped bring China closer to the Davis Cup World Group II finals! Isn’t that awesome?
On Friday, at the Hengqin International Tennis Center, Zhang played against Montenegro’s Aleksa Krivokapic, who is 21 years old. In the first set, Zhang broke Krivokapic’s serve to take a 2-1 lead and won the set 6-4. Then, in the second set, he broke serve again in the fifth game and won that set 6-4 too! Way to go, Zhang! ๐
After the match, Zhang said, “I gave my best in the match, and the break in the fifth game of the second set was truly inspiring for me. I want to express my gratitude to all the fans, especially during the Chinese Spring Festival.” It’s so cool that he feels supported by his fans during the special holiday! ๐
But that’s not all! Earlier, Zhang’s teammate Cui Jie also won his match against Petar Jovanovic with a score of 6-4, 7-6(4). That means China is now leading 2-0 in the best-of-five playoff series. Just one more win and China advances! ๐
Let’s cheer on Zhang Zhizhen, Cui Jie, and the whole team as they aim for victory! Go China! ๐จ๐ณ
