On Friday, at the Hengqin International Tennis Center, Zhang played against Montenegro’s Aleksa Krivokapic, who is 21 years old. In the first set, Zhang broke Krivokapic’s serve to take a 2-1 lead and won the set 6-4. Then, in the second set, he broke serve again in the fifth game and won that set 6-4 too! Way to go, Zhang! 🏆
After the match, Zhang said, “I gave my best in the match, and the break in the fifth game of the second set was truly inspiring for me. I want to express my gratitude to all the fans, especially during the Chinese Spring Festival.” It’s so cool that he feels supported by his fans during the special holiday! 🎉
But that’s not all! Earlier, Zhang’s teammate Cui Jie also won his match against Petar Jovanovic with a score of 6-4, 7-6(4). That means China is now leading 2-0 in the best-of-five playoff series. Just one more win and China advances! 🙌
