Hey there, winter sports fans! ❄️
Exciting news from Yabuli Sports Training Base in China! The base is getting ready to host the cross-country skiing events at the upcoming Asian Winter Games this February.
To make sure everything runs smoothly, 28 athletes took part in a two-day practice competition. They skied on two different routes, one that’s 1.3 kilometers long and another that’s 2.5 kilometers. That’s like skiing around a soccer field several times!
But it wasn’t just fun and games. This event helped the technical staff, medical teams, referees, and media people practice and get ready too.
The organizers want everything to be just right. They have experts who worked at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics helping out!
Did you know? Out of the 64 events in six different sports at the Asian Winter Games, 32 snow events will happen right in Yabuli! That’s half of them! Yabuli is about 190 kilometers away from Harbin, the main city hosting the games.
We can’t wait to see the amazing athletes compete and have fun in the snow! Are you excited? ⛷️
