It’s time to celebrate! π China’s superstar skier, Eileen Gu, has just won her 16th World Cup gold medal in the Freeski Halfpipe event! π The exciting competition took place in Chongli, Zhangjiakou City, in China’s Hebei Province.
Eileen, also known as Gu Ailing, wowed everyone with her amazing skills. In her second run, she scored an incredible 90.00 points! That’s like getting an A+ on a super hard test! π With this victory, she matched the all-time record held by French skier Tess Ledeux. How cool is that?
But Eileen wasn’t the only one shining on the slopes. Her teammate, Li Fanghui, also did an awesome job! She scored 82.75 points in her first run and finished as the runner-up. It’s great to see two friends from the same team doing so well together. π€
In the qualification round, both Eileen and Li showed everyone they were ones to watch. Eileen led the pack with 89.50 points, the highest score among all 15 competitors. She was the only one to get over 85.00 points! Talk about impressive! π
Last season, Eileen was on fire! π₯ She won four out of five World Cup events she entered. Even when the weather caused some problems, she still finished strong. Now, with this latest win, she’s proved once again she’s one of the best freestyle skiers in the world! β·οΈ
Congratulations to Eileen Gu and Li Fanghui! We can’t wait to see what they do next! π
