Luo Jun, from the Li Minority, won the men’s event in just 6.188 seconds! β±οΈ And Fu Shijun, who is Han Chinese, won the women’s event in 6.663 seconds! Both are from Hainan and were super excited to win in front of their home crowd. π
“I’m so happy! I’ve always dreamed of winning,” said Luo Jun. “In Hainan, we climb trees to get fresh coconut water. Now, everyone is learning about our sport. It’s amazing!”
“When I was younger, I wanted to climb trees to drink fresh coconut water, but I wasn’t strong enough,” shared Fu Shijun. “Now I can, and winning at home feels incredible! I’m proud to bring glory to Hainan.” π
