Get ready for an avalanche of exciting ice and snow sports events happening in China this November and December! From November 19 to December 8, China is hosting eight international competitions in various cool sports. Let’s check them out!
1. Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Cup 🛷
The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup is kicking off its second stop in Yanqing on November 19. Yanqing was a venue for the 2022 Winter Olympics! Chinese athletes Chen Wenhao and Zhao Dan both finished fifth in men’s and women’s skeleton races in South Korea recently. Go team China!
2. Cup of China Figure Skating ⛸️
From November 22-24, the Cup of China, part of the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix, is taking place in Chongqing. Watch out for China’s own figure skating star, Jin Boyang, as he dazzles on the ice!
3. Freeski Big Air World Cup 🎿
On November 29, the Freeski Big Air World Cup lands in Beijing’s Shougang Park. Get ready to see skiers perform amazing jumps and tricks high up in the air!
4. Speed Skating World Cup 🏃♂️💨
Also on November 29, the ISU World Cup Speed Skating races into the National Speed Skating Oval in Beijing, also known as the “Ice Ribbon”. Who will be the fastest on the ice?
5. Snowboard Alpine World Cup 🏂
On November 30, the Snowboard Alpine World Cup kicks off in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia. Athletes will compete in exciting races like the Parallel Slalom and Parallel Giant Slalom.
6. Freeski and Snowboard Park & Pipe 🏂🎿
From December 5-8, the Freeski Park & Pipe and Snowboard Park & Pipe competitions will be held at the Genting Resort Secret Garden in Zhangjiakou. Watch as athletes perform awesome tricks on the snow!
7. Short Track Speed Skating World Tour ⛸️💨
On December 6, the ISU Short Track World Tour comes to the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing. Short track speed skating is super fast and thrilling to watch!
8. Snowboard Alpine World Cup Returns 🏂
And finally, on December 7, the Snowboard Alpine World Cup returns to Yanqing. More snowboard racing fun awaits!
