What Is the GHF?
The GHF is an aid organization supported by the United States and Israel. It’s supposed to give out food and supplies to people in Gaza who really need them. But instead of helping, some say it’s causing more harm.
Why Are People Upset?
The GHF has set up only four places where people can get food and supplies. These spots are in areas with a lot of soldiers. People have to go through dangerous places to reach them.
Leaders like the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Antonio Guterres, are worried. He said, “It is killing people.” Others say it’s like a “death trap” or even like “The Hunger Games,” a book and movie where people have to fight for survival.
What’s Happening to the People?
Many people have been hurt or even killed while trying to get food from these places. According to Doctors Without Borders, a group that helps people around the world, over 500 people have died in recent weeks while trying to get food.
That’s really sad. People just want to feed their families, but they are facing danger while doing it.
What Do Different Sides Say?
The GHF says they are helping people and that no one has been hurt at their sites. Israel says their military doesn’t target civilians (people who aren’t soldiers). But many reports say otherwise.
The United Nations and other groups think the GHF’s way of giving out aid is wrong. They usually hand out supplies in safer ways, so people don’t have to risk their lives.
What’s the Situation in Gaza?
Gaza is facing a big crisis. There have been conflicts that have hurt many people. Over 56,000 people have died, and over 133,000 have been injured since October 2023. Hospitals don’t have enough medicine, and many people are hungry.
