On Thursday, the leader of the United Nations (UN), called the Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, reminded the world about something super important. He said, “The UN Charter isn’t like a menu where you pick what you like and skip what you don’t! 🍽️ It’s the foundation of how countries treat each other.”
But what is the UN Charter? 🤔
Well, imagine a big book of rules that all countries agree to follow so we can have peace, justice, and progress. 🌍📖 It was created way back on June 25, 1945, after World War II, to make sure countries work together and avoid conflicts.
Guterres said that sometimes countries only follow the rules when it suits them. “That’s not okay!” he said. “We have to follow the rules all the time, not just when we feel like it.”
