UN chief slams Israeli killings of starving Gazans as 'unacceptable'

UN Leader Says Hurting Hungry People in Gaza is Not Okay

Hey everyone! 🌍 Have you heard about what’s happening in a place called Gaza? It’s important, so let’s talk about it.

The United Nations (UN) is a big group of countries that work together to make the world better. The leader of the UN, Antonio Guterres, is very worried about people in Gaza who are hungry and getting hurt when they try to get food. He says this is not acceptable.

Many people in Gaza are trying to find food to eat, but some are getting hurt or even worse when they go to places to get food. More than 338 people have been killed and over 2,800 injured while trying to get food, according to reports. That’s a lot of people! 😒

Mr. Guterres wants an investigation to find out why this is happening and to make sure it stops. He also says that everyone who is being held captive should be released right away.

Other groups like the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (that’s a big name! Let’s call it OCHA) are also worried. They say that on one day alone, over 60 people were killed and more than 280 were injured while waiting for help.

Hospitals are very full, and doctors don’t have enough supplies to help everyone. There’s also a big problem because they are running out of fuel (that’s like gas) to keep things running, like water pumps and lights.

The World Health Organization says they haven’t been able to get fuel into Gaza for over 100 days! Without fuel, it’s hard to keep hospitals open and to provide clean water.

The UN and other helpers are asking for a way to bring in more supplies and to make sure people can get food and medicine safely. They are also asking for the fighting to stop so people can be safe.

It’s a tough situation, but people around the world are trying to help. Let’s hope for peace and that everyone gets the help they need. ✨
