U.S., biggest threat to South China Sea peace: Chinese envoy

China Says US Should Stop Making Trouble in the South China Sea 🌊

Hey kids! Do you know about the South China Sea? It’s a big area of the ocean near China, where many countries like to fish and send ships. Recently, China and the United States have been disagreeing about what should happen there.

On Tuesday, a Chinese diplomat named Geng Shuang said that the United States is causing problems in the South China Sea. He said the US is sending its warships there and making other countries nervous.

“The United States is like a kid who keeps stirring the pot,” Geng said. “They say it’s about ‘freedom of navigation,’ but they’re just making waves.”

China wants to work with other countries to keep the South China Sea peaceful and friendly. They believe that talking and working together is the best way to solve any disagreements.

The United States, on the other hand, has been criticizing China over the area. A US representative named Dorothy Shea talked about this at a United Nations meeting. But Geng Shuang said that the UN Security Council isn’t the right place to talk about the South China Sea.

There’s also some talk about Taiwan. China wants the US to remember the “one-China principle,” which means that Taiwan is part of China.

At the end of his speech, Geng Shuang said, “We hope everyone can work together to make the oceans peaceful and safe. Let’s be friends and share the sea!” 🐳
