China and Peru: Building Friendship Across the Ocean! ππ€
Hey there! Did you know that two countries, China and Peru, are becoming great friends? On Monday, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Peru’s Foreign Minister Elmer Schialer in Beijing, the capital city of China.
They talked about working together to help both countries grow and become even better places to live. Wang Yi said that Peru was one of the first countries in Latin America to join China’s big project called the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This project is like a giant plan to connect countries around the world through trade and cooperation. π
China and Peru have been trading a lot for 11 years in a row! China buys many things from Peru, making it Peru’s biggest trading partner. Isn’t that cool?
They also discussed a special port in Peru called Chancay Port. This port is super important because it helps ships travel between Peru and China faster. They even want to build a direct route from Chancay Port to Shanghai, a big city in China. This will help both countries trade more easily and grow stronger together. π’
Peru’s Foreign Minister Schialer said that Peru really appreciates China and wants to keep working together in areas like science, technology, and culture. They hope to make the Chancay Port even better and avoid double taxation, which means companies won’t have to pay taxes twice on the same money. That’s good news for businesses! π°
Both countries agreed to keep being good friends and help each other. They also plan to work together with other countries in Latin America to make the world a better place.
Isn’t it amazing how countries can come together and help each other out? Maybe one day, you’ll be part of making the world a friendlier place too! π
