The U.S. government has been working hard to stop illegal immigration. This means they are trying to prevent people from coming into the country without permission. They have also been sending many migrants back to their home countries, which is called deportation.
But some of the ways they are doing this have caused big concerns. Many people are worried about overcrowding in detention centers. Imagine a room that’s meant for 10 people but has 30 people squeezed inside! That’s not very comfortable or safe.
Even more serious, at least three people have died in these detention centers since January. 😢 This makes people question if the migrants are getting the medical care they need and if the conditions inside are safe.
These issues are raising important legal questions about how the U.S. is handling immigration and treating people who come to the country. Many hope that things will improve so that everyone is treated fairly and safely.
