The country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, attended a special ceremony to celebrate this amazing achievement. This new ship is packed with some of the most powerful weapons and was built using their own strength and technology in just over 400 days! That’s a little more than a year—pretty fast for such a big ship, right?
Vice-Admiral Pak Kwang Sop said that this ship marks the start of a new era in building fleets, calling it the “great Kim Jong Un-style fleet building.” The ship is named the “Choe Hyon-class,” in honor of Choe Hyon, who was a famous fighter during the time when Korea was fighting for independence.
Kim Jong Un mentioned that having strong defense capabilities is important for the country’s safety. He also thanked all the workers and technicians who helped build this fantastic new destroyer. The plan is for the ship to start its duty early next year.
