China Says No Talks with U.S. on Tariffs π€
Hey friends! Have you ever heard about tariffs? They are kind of like taxes that countries put on things they buy from each other. Recently, there's been some news about China and the United States talking about these tariffs.
But guess what? China says there are no talks happening right now! On Friday, a spokesperson from China's Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun, said that China and the U.S. are not having any discussions or negotiations about tariffs. He mentioned, "The U.S. should stop creating confusion."
Earlier, on Thursday, another spokesperson from China's Commerce Ministry, He Yadong, also said that any claims about progress in trade talks between China and the U.S. are not true. He explained that China is open to talking and working things out, but conversations need to be fair and based on respect.
He also added, "We Chinese are not troublemakers, but we will not flinch when trouble comes our way. Intimidation, threat, and blackmail are not the right way to engage with China."
It's important for countries to communicate and work together nicely, just like how we try to get along with our classmates! Let's hope they can find a way to talk things out in a friendly way soon. π
