Iran Wants to Make Peace with the US, Says Deputy Minister

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Kazem Gharibabadi, said that his country is serious about the talks with the US and wants no delays. 🕊️ These talks are about important things like lifting sanctions, which are rules that stop a country from trading freely, and discussing Iran’s nuclear program.
Mr. Gharibabadi explained that in their recent meetings, they agreed on how to move forward. He said that all the sanctions on Iran should be lifted so that the Iranian people can live better lives. 🤝
But he also said that Iran has “red lines,” which means things they are not willing to change. One of these is their right to enrich uranium, which is a process used in nuclear energy. ⚛️
Did you know that Iran and six other countries, including the US, had a big agreement back in 2015? It was called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA for short. It was a deal where Iran agreed to limit its nuclear activities in exchange for lifting the sanctions. But in 2018, the US decided to leave the deal and put the sanctions back. 😕
