Hey there! ๐ Have you heard about what’s happening between China and the United States?
Recently, the U.S. decided to put visa limits on some Chinese officials because they think it’s hard to visit a place in China called the Xizang Autonomous Region. You might also know Xizang as Tibet. ๐๏ธ
China didn’t like this decision. A spokesperson from China’s Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun, said that Xizang is actually open to everyone! In fact, he mentioned that in 2024, over 320,000 tourists visited Xizang from all over the world. That’s a lot of people! ๐
Because Xizang has special geography and weather (it’s really high up and can be super cold!), China says they have some rules to make sure visitors are safe. But they welcome anyone who wants to visit, tour, or do business there.
China is asking the U.S. to rethink their decision and stop interfering in what they consider their own internal matters. They hope that both countries can work things out peacefully. โ๏ธ
