Hey there! Have you ever heard about countries buying and selling oil? Oil is super important because it’s used to make gasoline for cars, heat our homes, and even make plastics.

Recently, the United States decided to put a big tax, called a tariff, on countries that buy oil from Venezuela. A tariff is like an extra fee added to things that are bought from other places.

The Chinese mainland is not happy about this. A spokesperson named Guo Jiakun from the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the U.S. shouldn’t be punishing other countries for buying oil from Venezuela. China believes that the U.S. is interfering in Venezuela’s own business.

Guo also said that trade wars and tariff wars don’t help anyone. It’s like when friends fight over toys—nobody wins, and everyone ends up upset!

Meanwhile, the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said he’s working hard to improve his country’s economy. He wants to produce and export more goods to help his people.

It’s important for countries to work together and solve problems without making things harder for each other. What do you think about this situation?
