In the city of Sansha, located on Yongxing Island in the South China Sea, students are learning in a whole new way. Thanks to real-time online classes, kids at Yongxing School can now join lessons taught by teachers from top schools in Beijing, the capital of China.
Breaking Down Barriers
Before, it was hard for students in remote places like Yongxing Island to get the same quality of education as those in big cities. But with the internet, everything is changing! Now, they can watch, listen, and interact with teachers hundreds of miles away.
Meet Ms. Wang Jin 🎶
One of these awesome teachers is Ms. Wang Jin, a music teacher from the Experimental Primary School of Beijing Normal University. She teaches music to the students of Yongxing School over the internet.
“In 2019, our school started working with Yongxing School,” Ms. Wang says. “We want to keep helping each other and sharing our knowledge.” She even plans to visit Sansha to teach in person!
Lots of Learning Going On
Since October 2022, Yongxing School has held 155 remote learning sessions! That’s a lot of online classes. 😊
The principal of Yongxing School, Mr. Guo Xing, is very excited. He said they’re also teaming up with other schools beyond their province to get even more resources.
