Hey there! Did you know that in 2024, more than 4 million people from the island of Taiwan traveled to the Chinese mainland? That’s like the entire population of a big city going on a trip! ๐๏ธโจ
This number is super special because it’s a 54.3% increase compared to the year before. Imagine if your favorite game suddenly had 54% more playersโthat’s a huge jump! ๐ฎ๐
Mr. Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, shared this exciting news. The Chinese mainland has been working hard to make it easier for people from Taiwan to visit, work, study, and live, especially in the southeastern Fujian Province. ๐ซ๐ฉโ๐ผ
Fujian Province is like a cool bridge between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. Last year, 920,000 Taiwan residents visited Fujianโthat’s a 53.3% increase! ๐
There are also special boats and flights that connect Fujian’s coastal areas with Kinmen and Mazu, which are nearby islands. Over 1.37 million passengers took these routes in the past year, marking big increases of 67.2% and 78.8%! ๐ขโ๏ธ
There are four main routes: Mawei to Mazu, Huangqi to Mazu, Quanzhou to Kinmen, and Xiamen to Kinmen. They operate up to 210 trips per week, so traveling is super convenient! ๐บ๏ธ
Since travel resumed for Fujian residents to Mazu and Kinmen last year, many group and individual tourists have visited. Mazu welcomed 193 group tourists and 885 individual tourists, while Kinmen had 2,834 group tourists and 39,751 individual tourists! Isn’t that awesome? ๐
All these travels help build friendship and understanding between people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll get to visit these places too! ๐ค
