South Korea's ruling party leader favors President Yoon's impeachment

South Korea’s Ruling Party Leader Calls for President’s Impeachment 🇰🇷

Hey there! Have you heard what’s happening in South Korea? 🇰🇷 Let’s dive into this important news story together!

On Thursday, the leader of South Korea’s ruling party, Han Dong-hoon, did something surprising. He called for his own party to support impeaching President Yoon Suk-yeol! 😮

What is impeachment? Impeachment is a way to remove a leader from office when they are believed to have done something wrong.

Why is this happening? It’s because President Yoon declared something called martial law, which many people think was a bad decision.

What’s martial law? Martial law is when the military takes control of the country instead of the normal government. This usually happens only in times of big trouble, like a war or a disaster. But in this case, lots of people think it wasn’t necessary and that it broke the rules.

Han Dong-hoon said that the president should step down and stop leading the country. He believes that impeaching the president is the only way to fix the confusion caused by the martial law declaration.

He also asked other lawmakers (that’s what they call people who make laws) in his party to vote for impeachment based on their own beliefs and conscience.

At first, the ruling party didn’t want to impeach the president. They hoped he would just resign on his own. But since that didn’t happen, they’re now considering impeachment.

The opposition parties (those are the other parties) tried to impeach the president before, but it didn’t work because the ruling party didn’t join in. Now, they plan to try again soon.

It’s a big moment in South Korea’s government! We’ll have to wait and see what happens next. Stay tuned! 📺
