Hey there! 👋 Let’s talk about something interesting happening in South Korea 🇰🇷!
What’s Going On?
South Korea’s parliament (that’s like their group of important lawmakers) was supposed to vote on whether or not to remove their President, Mr. Yoon Suk-yeol, from his job. This process is called impeachment.
But guess what? It looks like the vote isn’t going to happen because not enough people are voting! 😮
Why Not Enough Votes?
To make a big decision like impeachment, a certain number of lawmakers need to be present and vote. This is called a quorum. But the members of the ruling party, called the People Power Party, are refusing to vote. Since they aren’t voting, there aren’t enough people to make the vote count.
What Does This Mean?
Since there aren’t enough votes, the impeachment motion will probably fail. That means President Yoon will keep his job.
Why Is This Important?
It’s important because it shows how different groups in the government can affect big decisions. Even if some people want to impeach the President, they can’t do it without enough votes.
Stay Tuned!
Politics can be complicated, but it’s cool to learn about how governments work around the world! 🌏
