Hey kids! Did you know that in a place called Gaza, many families are having a really hard time? 😔 There are big problems that are making life tough for them.
For over seven weeks, more than 130,000 people had to leave their homes because of fighting in the northern part of Gaza. Imagine if you had to leave your house and couldn’t take all your favorite things!
Many families don’t have cooking gas, so they can’t cook food the usual way. They’re burning trash to make fire, which isn’t safe and can make people sick. 🤒
The price of food has gone up a lot—over 1,000%! That means something that used to cost $1 now costs more than $10. That’s a lot! The World Food Programme is trying to help by bringing flour to bakeries so people can have bread to eat. 🍞 Bread is very important because sometimes it’s the only food families have.
Also, many people don’t have a safe place to stay. More than half a million people are living in broken buildings or makeshift shelters. With winter coming, it’s getting cold, and they need warm places to sleep. 🏠
In some places, heavy rain has flooded shelters, and families had to move again to find somewhere dry to stay.
Even in another place called the West Bank, things aren’t good. From November 19 to 25, nine people lost their lives because of the fighting.
Organizations like the United Nations are working hard to help these families get food, water, and safe places to live. 🌍
It’s important for us to know about other kids and families around the world who need help. Maybe we can think of ways to support them or learn more about what’s happening.
