Hey there, nature explorers! ๐ฟ Guess what? In the magical Gaoligong Mountains in southwest China’s Yunnan Province, invisible cameras have captured videos of 71 different wild animal species! ๐ท๐พ
These special cameras, called infrared cameras, can see in the dark and are hidden so animals don’t notice them. They recently filmed 33 types of beasts (that’s another word for mammals!) and 38 kinds of birds. ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ
This is super exciting because it shows just how amazing and full of life these mountains are. The Gaoligong Mountains are sometimes called the “world species gene bank” and the “world museum of nature” because so many different plants and animals live there! ๐๐๏ธ
Some of the incredible animals caught on camera include:
- The critically endangered Myanmar snub-nosed monkeys ๐ (these monkeys have funny upturned noses!)
- Endangered red pandas ๐ผ (they’re cute and fluffy like little fire-colored bears!)
- Assam macaques ๐ต
- Lady Amherst’s pheasants ๐ฆ (beautiful birds with colorful feathers!)
- Silver pheasants ๐ฆ
Thanks to the hard work of the people protecting these mountains, these animals can live safely in their natural home. Isn’t that awesome? ๐คฉ
Who knows what other amazing creatures are out there waiting to be discovered? Maybe you’ll be the next explorer to find something new! ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ๐
