Tornadoes tear through Texas, Oklahoma

Wild Tornadoes Hit Texas and Oklahoma: Floods, Hail, and Heroes!

Whoa! Did you hear about the wild weather in Texas and Oklahoma? 🌪️ Huge tornadoes swept through these states, bringing heavy rain, giant hailstones, and even floods!

A tornado is a spinning column of air that touches the ground and can cause lots of damage. They can be really scary, but it’s important to know what happened so we can learn and stay safe!

Over the weekend, there were seventeen tornadoes reported in Texas and Oklahoma. 😮 Some towns are still recovering from previous storms, and now they have to deal with new damage.

The storms brought heavy rain—up to 10 centimeters! That’s like having a big soda bottle of water pour down everywhere. This caused flooding in some areas.

In the city of Moore, Oklahoma, lots of people had to be rescued from cars stuck in floodwaters. Police and heroes worked hard to save them. Unfortunately, some people were hurt, which is very sad.

The storms also caused damage in other towns. In Ada, Oklahoma, buildings had their roofs torn off and windows broken. Imagine seeing a roof lifted into the air! 😲

The storm system moved northeast but could still bring storms to other places like Arkansas and Missouri. People there need to stay alert and safe.

If you ever face bad weather, always listen to adults and follow safety instructions. Storms can be dangerous, but knowing what to do makes a big difference! Stay safe, everyone! ❤️
