Kai Kai and Xin Xin came to Macao from Chengdu City in China back in 2015 as a special gift from the central government. Chengdu is a city in southwest China that’s famous for pandas!
Learning Languages
Guess what? The panda caretakers talk to them in Cantonese, English, and even a bit of the Chengdu dialect! Panda breeder Mok Weng Han says they communicate in different languages during training. How cool is that? ๐
Panda Conservation
Taking care of pandas is a big job! The Macao Giant Panda Pavilion works closely with the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to make sure the pandas are healthy and happy.
Bringing Joy to Macao
As Macao celebrates its 25th anniversary of returning to China, more and more people are visiting the park to see the adorable panda family. Kids love stopping by every week to say hello to their furry friends.
Spreading Happiness and Health
