Have you ever heard of the black-necked cranes? π¦ These incredible birds live high up in the wetlands of Sichuan, China. With their long legs and striking black-and-white feathers, they look like real-life fairies of the mountains!
In the Zoige Wetland National Nature Reserve, winding rivers and sparkling lakes create a perfect home for these special birds. Every spring, the black-necked cranes build cozy nests among the grasses and reeds. By summer, adorable little chicks hatch and start exploring their big, beautiful world.
Meet Ruke, a 60-year-old ranger who has spent many years protecting the black-necked cranes. He loves these birds so much that his son, Rinchen Dorje, decided to become a ranger too! π¨βπ¦ Together, they patrol the wetlands, making sure the cranes and other wildlife are safe and sound.
The Zoige Wetland is not just home to cranes but also many other rare birds. It’s like a big, lively neighborhood for animals! π¦πΏ The work that Ruke and Rinchen do reminds us how important it is to take care of nature and all the creatures that live in it.
By protecting places like the Zoige Wetland, we help amazing animals like the black-necked cranes live happily. Maybe one day, you can be a nature hero too! π
