Recently, representatives from many countries gathered in Busan, South Korea. They wanted to create a global agreement to help stop plastic pollution. But guess what? They couldn’t agree on the best way to do it. 😕
The Big Debate: Make Less Plastic or Just Clean Up?
Over 100 countries think we should make less plastic. They believe that if we produce fewer plastic items, there will be less plastic waste to harm our planet. Makes sense, right?
But some countries, especially those that produce a lot of oil (which is used to make plastic), think we should focus only on cleaning up plastic waste, not on making less plastic.
