China Wants the World to Be Ready for Extreme Weather! π¦οΈ
Hey friends! Have you ever heard about typhoons, hurricanes, or really big storms? πͺοΈ They can be super scary, right? Well, at a big meeting called COP29 held in Baku, Azerbaijan, China said it’s important for the whole world to be prepared for these extreme weather events!
China’s Vice Premier, Mr. Ding Xuexiang (that’s like a vice principal at school), spoke at the meeting on behalf of President Xi Jinping. He talked about how climate change is making the weather more extreme and unpredictable. That means more big storms, floods, and heatwaves. ππ₯
Mr. Ding shared three important ideas to help everyone be safer:
- Understanding Risks Together: By figuring out where and when extreme weather might happen, we can prepare better! Scientists from all over the world can work together to study the climate. π¬
- Building a Global Early Warning System: Imagine getting a warning on your phone before a big storm hits! π± China wants all countries to share technology and help each other set up early warning systems so people can be alerted in time.
- Helping Each Other Adapt: This means countries teaming up to adjust to the changes in climate. China plans to support other developing countries by giving them tools and training to predict and prepare for extreme weather. π€
Other important people at the meeting agreed that we need to work together to keep everyone safe. By sharing knowledge and technology, we can make sure that no matter where you live, you have the tools to face whatever weather comes your way! π
Isn’t it great when countries team up to help protect the planet? Maybe one day, you can be a scientist or leader who helps too! π
