Leaders Team Up to Find Money to Save the Planet! 🌍
Hey there! Have you ever wondered how we can help save our planet from climate change? 🌞🌧️🌪️ Well, some very important people met at a big event called the 2025 Summer Davos to talk about just that!
At a special session called “Where’s the Capital for Climate?“, leaders from around the world discussed how to find the money needed to protect our Earth. 🌳💰
Michael Wang from CGTN hosted the discussion with:
- James Opiyo Wandayi, Kenya’s minister of energy and petroleum
- Liu Zhenmin, China’s special envoy for climate change
- Nonkululeko Nyembezi, chair of Standard Bank Group from South Africa
- Majid Al Suwaidi, CEO of Alterra
They talked about how countries have promised $300 billion every year to help places that need more support in fighting climate change. That’s a lot of money! 💸 But guess what? We need even more—like trillions of dollars—to really make a big difference! 😮
So, how can we find all that money? 🤔 The leaders had some cool ideas:
- Working Together: Governments and businesses can team up to share resources and ideas.
- Investing in Green Projects: Putting money into projects that help the environment, like solar panels and wind turbines. ☀️🌬️
- Stronger Rules: Making sure that things like carbon trading (that’s when companies trade permissions to release carbon dioxide) are done fairly and help reduce pollution. ♻️
They also talked about how everyone—including kids and teens like you—can play a part! 🌟 By learning about climate change and sharing ideas, we can all help find ways to protect our planet.
Isn’t it exciting to know that people around the world are working hard to save the Earth? 🌏 Maybe one day, you could be one of these leaders, too!
What do you think are some ways to help our planet? Share your ideas with friends and family! 🤗
