Ceasefire in Gaza: Israel and Hamas Agree to Release Hostages πŸ™ŒπŸ•ŠοΈ

After more than 15 months of conflict, there is finally some hopeful news from the Gaza Strip. On Wednesday, Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire and a plan to release hostages. This means they have decided to stop fighting for now and work towards peace.

When Does It Start?

The ceasefire will begin on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. local time in Gaza (that’s 06:30 GMT). So, set your clocks! ⏰

What’s the Plan?

The plan has three phases and will last for 42 days. In the first phase:

  • Hamas must release 33 hostages they have been holding.
  • Israel will start to pull back its troops from the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
  • Israel will also begin releasing some Palestinian prisoners.

Rafah Crossing Reopens

The Rafah crossing, which is the only way to travel between Gaza and Egypt, is set to reopen on Sunday. This is big news because about 600 trucks filled with aid are expected to enter Gaza through this crossing. That means more food, medicine, and help for the people who need it! 🚚❀️

Why Is This Important?

This ceasefire is a step towards peace in a region that has seen a lot of conflict. Kids and families can hope for safer days ahead. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this peace lasts! 🀞
