Nanning: The City of Old Friends Welcomes Mayors from Across Asia

Hey there! 🌟 Have you ever heard of Nanning? It’s a super friendly city in South China that’s known as the “City of Old Friends“! 🤗

Nanning is the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and is the closest big city in China to the countries of Southeast Asia. That makes it a special place where people from China and the ASEAN countries (which stands for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) come together.

Recently, mayors and city leaders from places like Vientiane, Yangon, Surat Thani, Kulim, Mong Cai, Siem Reap, and Mataram came to Nanning to have a big chat! 🗣️ They met to talk about how their cities can work together, share ideas, and make new friends.

One of the coolest things about Nanning is its “laoyou” rice noodles. 🍜 In Chinese, “laoyou” means “old friend,” and these noodles are a tasty symbol of friendship! Maybe you’d like to try them someday?

The mayors’ meeting was all about exploring new ways for cities to open up and cooperate. They want to write a new chapter in building a friendly home between China and the ASEAN countries. Isn’t that awesome? 🌏

So next time you think about cities working together, remember Nanning—the city of old friends bringing people closer! 💕
