On Wednesday, a passenger airplane from Azerbaijan Airlines (also known as AZAL) crashed near a city called Aktau in Kazakhstan. There were 67 people on the plane.
As of Thursday, 38 people have sadly lost their lives, and 29 others were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
The black box of the plane, which records important flight information, has been found. This will help experts investigate why the crash happened.
Right now, we don’t know exactly what caused the accident, but people are working hard to find out.
Even the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, shared his condolences, which means he expressed his sadness about this tragic event.
