On Saturday, thousands of people gathered all across California to stand up for fairness and freedom. 👫 They were part of the “No Kings” protests, sharing their thoughts about how everyone should be treated.
These protests happened on a special day called Flag Day, which is when people in the United States celebrate their flag. It was also President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday. 🎂
In Los Angeles, lots of people went to the streets to make their voices heard. One person said, “Our country was made up of immigrants to begin with. The Statue of Liberty invited everybody in.” 🗽 This means they believe that the United States should welcome people from all over the world.
The protesters were expressing concern about immigration raids and policies they think are unfair. They wanted to remind everyone that the United States is a place where freedom and fairness are important.
