On June 8, many people gathered in downtown Los Angeles to protest. They were upset about recent actions taken by some government agencies. A few days earlier, starting on June 6, a group called Immigration and Customs Enforcement (also known as ICE) carried out raids in several places in southern California. Raids are when officials go to certain places to find and arrest people they believe have broken the law. These actions made many people upset because they felt it was unfair.
