Remembering George Floyd: Standing Up Against Racism 🌟
Hi friends! Have you ever wondered how we can make the world a better place? On May 25, people all over the United States held special events to remember a man named George Floyd.
George Floyd was an unarmed Black man who, five years ago, was killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This event made many people very sad and angry, and they decided to speak out against racism.
What is Racism?
Racism is when people are treated unfairly just because of the color of their skin or their background. It’s like if someone didn’t want to be your friend just because you look different. That’s not fair, is it?

Adam Solveig is a photographer who lives in New York City. He loves taking pictures of everyday life in the city. As a Black American, Adam feels that racism has always existed. He believes that George Floyd’s death was a spark that made people realize they need to stand up against unfair treatment.
