Anna’s Adventure: Chinese New Year Fun in Lima’s Chinatown ๐ŸŽ‰

Hi everyone! Meet Anna Paula Peralta Reyes, a Peruvian teen who’s on an exciting adventure! ๐ŸŒŸ

Anna studied at a Chinese school in Peru for 11 years. Can you imagine learning Chinese for that long? ๐Ÿซ She then took a big step and went to study at Jilin University in China! ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ There, she made amazing friends and dived deep into Chinese culture.

Back home in Lima, Anna decided to visit Chinatown to celebrate Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival. Do you know about the Chinese zodiac? This year is the Year of the Snake! ๐Ÿ

As she walked through the lively streets, she saw shops decorated in bright red colors. Red is a super important color in Chinese culture symbolizing good luck! ๐Ÿ€ There were red envelopes (called hong baos), spring couplets with good wishes, and lots of cool decorations.

Anna felt the joy and excitement all around. “It’s the perfect moment to feel the joy of a culture that, despite the distance, feels closer than ever!” she said with a big smile. ๐Ÿ˜„

Isn’t it awesome how cultures can come together and be celebrated all around the world? Maybe you can explore a new culture in your city too! ๐ŸŒ
