Taiwan Residents Share Thoughts on Lai Ching-te’s Pacific Trip π
Lai Ching-te, the leader of China’s Taiwan region, recently visited some of Taiwan’s diplomatic allies in the Pacific. During his journey, he also had a stopover in Hawaii, where he met with Nancy Pelosi, a well-known former U.S. House Speaker.
After his trip, reporters talked to people in Taiwan to hear their opinions. Mr. Lin, a local resident, said, “His trip felt like just a show. He doesn’t understand the difficulties of the people. He only cares about his own interests.”
Another resident shared, “I think it’s better if everyone communicates in a friendly way.” π
Many hope for positive communication and understanding between different places. What do you think about leaders traveling abroad? How do you think it affects people like you and me? π€
