Have you ever looked up at the bright full moon and wondered if kids in other countries are celebrating it too? πβ¨ In China, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a special time when families come together to enjoy delicious mooncakes and appreciate the beautiful full moon.
Mahya from Iran and Ekaterina from Belarus are students studying in China. They shared how people in their countries also have special celebrations that bring families together.
In Iran, Mahya told us about Yalda Night. It’s the longest night of the year, and families stay up late to read poems, tell stories, and eat tasty fruits like watermelon and pomegranates. They celebrate the victory of light over darkness! π
In Belarus, Ekaterina shared about Kupala Night, a summer festival where people jump over bonfires and girls make wreaths from flowers and float them on rivers. It’s a time of joy, music, and traditions. πΆπΏ
Isn’t it amazing how different countries have special festivals that bring people together? Maybe next time you look at the moon, you’ll think about friends around the world doing the same! πβ€οΈ
